New at Chandler Library! Zinio Magazines

You can now get hundreds of digital magazines for free through Zinio and Chandler Public Library. Here's how to get started:
From chandlerlibrary.org, hover your mouse over READ, then choose Ebooks and Digital Media. Click Zinio.
You will have to create TWO accounts to use Zinio. Create the first one here by clicking Create Account. You will need to enter your library card number, then an email address and a password. The first time you do this, you will get an email confirmation notice and you must click the link in that notice.
Here is the library's collection of magazines. Browse or click the Title arrow to choose a title. (Please note: some magazine publishers do not participate in Zinio, so some magazines will not be available.) Click a magazine cover to check it out.
Here's where you create your second account with Zinio. Use the same email address and password. (In the future, click where it says "Sign in here" to access what you have checked out.)
Here is where you can see the magazines you have checked out. Click a title to read the magazine.
Notice that your account has opened in a new tab (sometimes in a new window, if you use Internet Explorer). You also have a tab or window marked "Return to Library Collection." Make sure to keep the Return to Library Collection tab/window open, because you will have to return to this tab/window if you want to check out a new magazine. (Otherwise, you may be charged for new magazines.)

If you want to read Zinio magazines on a tablet device or smartphone, you can also download the Zinio app. Make sure to use a computer or the browser on your device to set up your accounts, access the library's collection, and check out your magazines. Then you'll be able to read the magazines you've checked out in the Zinio app.

[Edited to correct a typo - CPL]

Sorry you're having trouble. Does your page look like any of the screen shots shown above? Make sure to click the Zinio button from the E-books page at chandlerlibrary.org/go2/e-books-and-digital-media.cfm. There are some other links on that page that point to related information, but don't allow you to log in.

If you have more in-depth questions, you might want to use our Ask a Question page at chandlerlibrary.org/plugins/ask-a-question/index.cfm. Fill out the fields with your question and contact information (email may be best for this type of question, so we can send you the links you need) and a librarian will contact you.

One more thing: It was just reported to me that Zinio had an outage this weekend, March 23-24, and any attempt to access Zinio would have shown a page with no way to log in. This problem has been corrected, and if you're still seeing the page with no log in button, just refresh the page to reload it.
